Been down in el Lay the last week . The culture down there is beyond blended. I was listening to KCRW, and most of the songs being played on Morning Becomes Eclectic were in Spanish. Walking down Alvarado Thursday afternoon, I stumbled into Langer’s Deli, a little gringo oasis.

There is something brewing in Central California. Yesterday thousands of marchers started their first leg of an eighty mile march from Mendota to the San Luis Resevoir. I think it’s the first time I can remember growers marching together with immigrant laborers.
