You hit the nail on the head… issues aren’t about doing what’s right and wrong anymore, it’s about which Hollywood “expert” they can get to testify.
Whatever happened to simply doing the right thing because it’s right? Kudos to Paul Rodriguez for taking up this cause, but why is his opinion (no offense to Paul) any more credible than someone else who understands and can articulate the issues?
The Sean Hannity show should have been enough to force the issue, but it apparently wasn’t. Airing thousands of migrant farm workers in line for imported fruits and vegetables in a region of the country that produces an abundance of these things should have been enough to turn on the pumps. Last month’s dust storms that caused massive pile-ups along I-5 in western Fresno County should have been enough, particularly when the dust from those wind storms came from fallowed land that would otherwise have been held in place by crops had the water been available.
You’re right: This isn’t about a comedian who can make us laugh; it’s about our very livelihoods and the lives of tens of thousands of Californians who’s fate is in the hands of their elected officials and the environmental terrorists who own them.
