Sports  Niners lose.  They did give the Giants all they could handle though. But for a couple rookie mistakes ,the ‘niners could very well be headed to the Super Bowl. Kudos to Coach Harbaugh and that mighty niner defense.

Arts    Hold Steady frontman ( and quite possibly yet another bastard son of Newt Gingrich ) Craig Finn released a cool new album this week.  I picked up a copy at Amoeba records while down in LA.  Sepulveda says two thumbs up.

Been getting alot of hits on my Bastard Sons Of Newt Gingrich post lately.  I imagine some MSNBC producer typing “Newt Gingrich”, bastard, lovechild into a search engine, getting the results and for a moment thinking “My God, it’s true! Chris will  love this.”

If there actually is an illegitimate Newt Jr. out there, I imagine he’ll be showing up on your TV with his mom and Gloria Allred any minute now.

No problem, I’ll just grab the book I bought in Bakersfield on the way down. Yeah read a few pages and soon I’ll sink back into oblivious sleep but noooooo this trip, I bought this book. 

After 116 pages I figured I might as well take a break and do some blogging. Strangely enough, the sporadic howling isn’t unnerving anymore. It’s actually kind of funny.

Am I the only one that this happens to?  You’re driving around listening to the radio or watching TV and some news comes on that an old celebrity has passed away right? And you think to yourself; “I thought they died like 5 years ago… yeah I swear I heard something about that.”

Well here’s a new one. You’re surfing the web (or driving around listening to the radio or watching TV) and you come across some news that an old celebrity is gay right?  And you think to yourself; “I thought she came out like 15 years ago… I swear I heard something about that… yeah, and then she OD’d.”

All the same, Kristy McNichol is stunned at the outpouring of support she has received from her family, friends and fans, many of whom probably having the exact same reaction I did before they started pouring out their support.

Which brings me to the whole subject of Gay Pride. Now, I consider myself a more than moderately compassionate and tolerant person, (stop laughing it’s true)  but when did we cross the line from tolerance over to celebration?  And what is it we are celebrating exactly?  Does it take an inordinate amount of determination/perseverance, skill or courage to be gay?

Another Iranian Nuclear Scientists bites the dust.  What the hell is going on here? Is it simply the Iranians cleaning house and trying to drum up some sympathetic press in the process?  Or is it Israel’s dreaded assassination force aka, “The Hand Of God”?

Nobody knows for sure and really,  some guy… on a motercycle? That’s not a whole lot to go on.
